High above the clouds, scaling steep mountain peaks with grace and ease, are the mountain goats (known locally as bouguetin), deer and chamois.
On the lower slopes, also amazingly agile, are the gentile giants of the Swiss Alps, bovine beasts, or simply cows, grazing the mountain grass, watching and chilling. Often still, they can run fast and climb steep mountain banks as well.
It’s not easy to take a good photo without it appearing rather cliche. Yet to see these animals close up and to witness their grace and lightness is mesmerising.
